Inspection Engineer (Contract position) Algeria

This is a contract position minimum of 12 months 3X3 Rotation in Algeria day rate £450/d 

Subject to meeting Visa requirements and my clients criteria.
The successful candidate must be fully qualified and prepared to do all his own conventional NDT (Minimum NDT qualifications PCN Level 2 in UT, MPI & DP).

Duties & Responsibilities 
As an Inspection Engineer your duties will consist of but are not limited to;
- To ensure all plant and equipment on the designated platform is inspected and certified in accordance with approved plans.
- Control and co-ordinate all inspection activities in accordance with the terms of the contract, ensuring regular feedback to the client and Lead Engineer based onshore.
- Ensure that overall, inspection and certification of plant and equipment on the designated platform complies with requirements of appropriate standards, Approved criticality procedures and statutory requirements, to ensure continued integrity and plant availability.
- Participate in all strategy RBA reviews to assist in the development of inspection programmes and where necessary develop detailed plans, programmes and workscopes.
- Undertake all agreed offshore inspections, ensuring they are implemented and completed as scheduled either directly or arrange and supervise company employed contractors on a continual basis at offshore arrival, daily briefings and de-mobilisation. Ensuring the contractor understands the workscope, the associated risks and that the work is completed and reported as specified in the workscope.
- Submit inspection reports, to the Lead Inspection Engineer, of all inspections completed directly by the Offshore Inspection Engineer or company employed contractors. Where relevant the reports are to include supporting information, documentation and NDT reports.
- Ensure that all inspection activities are conducted in accordance with the recommended company operating procedure and inspection routine
- Liaise with Ops Support Engineer to ensure support services are provided for inspection activities.
- Update client MMS with inspection frequencies from RBA’s.
- Liaise with the client and the Lead Engineer to discuss anomalies through the IQ process, determine the remedial action supported by company piping and structural engineers.
- Review Asset specific operational reports, plans and identify events likely to impact on the inspection and corrosion monitoring programs.
- Progress inspection reports, remedial orders etc and update SAP inspections
- Support the Lead Engineer in assessment of problems both technical and operational by sourcing information, progressing actions, notification of actions etc.
- Attend planning meetings accordingly.
- Management of and reporting on overdue surveys and deferrals. 

Qualifications 
Degree/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent,
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience of working in a similar role.
Able to produce reports.
Experience in the field of plant and equipment in- service inspection.
Able to demonstrate working knowledge of design, manufacturing, materials, corrosion, welding, codes, standards and legislation associated with the in- service inspection of plant and equipment.
Familiar with QA/QC practices and NDT techniques.
Able to generate a team approach to problem solving and excellent communicator.

Applicants must have an engineering degree, at least 10 years experience in manufacturing of power plant components (preferentially CCPP), knowledge of materials such as P 91, P 22, including welding procedures and NDT. 

The assignments will be long term (2 to 3 years). The assignments will start between April 2006 and October 2006. 

Payment and working conditions will be interesting. Depending on the location the day rate will be between 450 and 540 US$ plus expenses. Accommodation will be in site camps. Working language will be English, or German for some German projects. We will only accept highly qualified applicants.
